Second Garden (Eden 2)

After the Default, Adam and Eve were expelled from the first Garden and relocated to a previously prepared site between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in Mesopotamia. This Second Garden became the center of Adamic civilization for over 1,000 years. Adam lived here for 530 years. The violet race expanded from this location, eventually blending with the Nodites to produce the Andite race — the most dynamic civilization builders in planetary history. The Second Garden was far less beautiful than the first but served as the cradle of all subsequent advanced human civilization.

Post-Rebellion

Van's Highland Headquarters

After the rebellion, Van and Amadon established their highland headquarters in the Kopet Dag region east of the Caspian Sea. This remote mountain plateau served as the center of world ethics and the loyalist stronghold for over 150,000 years (~162,000 by calculation). The Tree of Life was transplanted here and sustained Van and Amadon across the millennia. Van organized 350 defensive groups from this base and maintained civilization's last outpost against the rebel Nodites until the arrival of Adam and Eve, when he transferred the Tree to the Garden of Eden.

Post-Rebellion

Land of Nod

After the rebellion, Nod and the 60 rebel corporeal staff members established their civilization east of Dalamatia. The Nodites became a powerful race — tall, long-headed, and magnificent. They are the 'mighty men of old, men of renown' referenced in Genesis 6:4 (the Nephilim). The Land of Nod was an industrial and military powerhouse with advanced metallurgy and engineering. Nod's descendants included Serapatatia and Cano, who played key roles in the Adamic Default. In Sumerian mythology, Nod is remembered as Enlil, the rebel rival of Enki/Van.

Adamsonite Center (Kopet Dag)

Adamson, firstborn son of Adam and Eve, established a secondary civilization center near Van's old highland headquarters in the Kopet Dag region of Turkmenistan. Here he found and married Ratta, the last pure-line descendant of the corporeal staff. Together they had 67 children and founded a civilization that became the origin of Greek mythology — Adamson and Ratta are remembered as Cronus and Rhea, and their children as the Olympian gods. Their descendant Sato later led 375 Adamsonites to Greece, founding what the UB calls 'the most beautiful of men since the days of the first Eden.'

Athens

Athens was a major stop on Jesus, Ganid, and Gonod's Mediterranean tour (AD 22-23). They visited the great university, attended philosophical lectures, and had the famous Discourse on Science at an inn with a Greek philosopher (Paper 133:5). The city was also home to Adamsonite-descended Greeks who Sato had led there millennia earlier — 'physically regarded, the most beautiful of men since the days of the first Eden.' Athens represented the peak of Greek civilization, itself built on an Adamsonite and Andite foundation.

Alexandria

The great library city of Egypt where Jesus and Ganid spent months collecting religious manuscripts from every world tradition. Young Ganid employed over 60 translators to compile the world's religious writings, discovering that virtually every tradition's concept of one God traced back to Machiventa Melchizedek's Salem missionaries. This compilation became the basis for Paper 131: The World's Religions. Alexandria was also a major center of Andite-descended Egyptian civilization and a melting pot of world cultures.

Adamic Era

Latakia Ridge (Submerged Eden)

The Latakia Ridge is a submerged landmass between Cyprus and the Syrian coast in the eastern Mediterranean. Researcher Robert Sarmast has identified it as the likely location of the first Garden of Eden described in Paper 73. AI-enhanced bathymetric analysis has revealed geometric features at 584m depth — a rectangular depression with raised rims, canal-like cuts, and mirrored triangular mounds. The peninsula's dimensions match the UB's description: approximately 60 miles long, narrowing to a neck at the mainland. Ten independent lines of evidence confirm the ridge summit was once above water.

Garden of Eden

The Garden of Eden was a specially prepared Mediterranean peninsula designed as the headquarters for the Adamic biological mission. Van and Amadon directed its preparation over approximately 83 years before the arrival of Adam and Eve. The Garden featured a central circular courtyard surrounding the Temple of the Father, with administrative, residential, educational, and agricultural zones radiating outward. It contained the Tree of Life, advanced agricultural systems, and a beauty of landscape unmatched anywhere on the planet. After the Adamic Default, the peninsula eventually submerged beneath the eastern Mediterranean Sea.

Pre-Planetary Prince

Dalamatia

Dalamatia was the first planned city on Urantia, established approximately 500,000 years ago by the Planetary Prince's corporeal staff on the Persian Gulf coast. It served as the world's first center of administered civilization for roughly 300,000 years. The city housed the Ten Councils that governed every domain of human development: food, domestication, knowledge, manufacturing, trade, religion, health, art, tribal relations, and racial cooperation. When the Lucifer Rebellion struck approximately 200,000 years ago, the city was destroyed, and its remains now lie beneath the waters of the Persian Gulf.

Post-Rebellion

Salem

Salem was the site in Palestine where Machiventa Melchizedek materialized in an emergency incarnation 1,973 years before the birth of Jesus. From Salem, Machiventa operated a school of monotheistic theology and trained missionaries who spread the Salem gospel of faith in one God across the entire world. Salem later became the city known as Jerusalem. The Salem teachings influenced every major religion on the planet and prepared the way for the bestowal of Michael of Nebadon.

Eternal

Jerusem

Jerusem is the headquarters sphere of the local system of Satania, of which Urantia is a member. It is approximately one hundred times the mass of Urantia. Jerusem features the Sea of Glass, a vast receiving field made of crystalline material, and is surrounded by seven transition worlds where ascending mortals continue their education after death. The system government operates from Jerusem under the administration of Lanaforge, the System Sovereign who replaced the apostate Lucifer. Lucifer is currently imprisoned on the Jerusem detention spheres.

Pre-Adamic

Onamonalonton's Headquarters (California Redwoods)

Approximately 65,000 years ago, Onamonalonton united the red race tribes from his headquarters among the giant redwood trees of what is now California. He was one of the greatest teachers of the red race and the source of the 'Great Spirit' tradition that persisted throughout indigenous American spirituality. He taught worship of the 'Breath Giver' — a monotheistic concept that traces back through racial memory to the original teachings of the corporeal staff. Onamonalonton is one of the 24 Counselors on Jerusem, representing the red race in planetary governance.

Sangik Era

Basque Country (Blue Race Survivors)

The Basque region of northern Spain and southern France preserves one of the last traces of the original blue Sangik race on Urantia. The Basques are among the oldest surviving ethnic populations in Europe, with a language (Euskara) that has no known relation to any other language on Earth — possibly preserving elements of the ancient blue race tongue. The blue race under Orlandof (~200,000 BCE) revived worship of 'the Supreme Chief' and invented many modern arts. Most blue race populations were eventually absorbed by Andite and other migrations, but the Basque people retained their distinct identity in the mountain valleys of the Pyrenees.

Dawn of Humanity

Andon and Fonta Birthplace (Badonan Highlands)

Andon and Fonta, the first true human beings on Urantia, were born in the Badonan highlands approximately 993,419 years before the year AD 1934. They were twins who broke away from their inferior primate ancestors and migrated northward. Their first camp was established near the present-day location of the highlands of northwestern India/Afghanistan. From this single couple descended the entire Andonite race — the original human stock that most closely resembles modern Inuit/Eskimo peoples. Andon and Fonta are among the 24 Counselors on Jerusem.

Jesus Era

Bethlehem (Birth of Jesus)

Jesus of Nazareth — Michael of Nebadon in his seventh and final bestowal — was born at noon on August 21, 7 BC, in a manger room of a Bethlehem inn. His parents, Joseph (a black-eyed brunet of Hebrew descent) and Mary (a brown-eyed, well-nigh blond woman of mixed Syrian, Hittite, Phoenician, Greek, and Egyptian ancestry), had traveled to Bethlehem for the Roman census. The infant Jesus was a healthy, normal child. Zacharias and Elizabeth's son John (the Baptist) had been born six months earlier. Three priests from Ur arrived weeks later, guided not by a star but by the legend of Melchizedek that persisted in their Mesopotamian homeland.

Sangik Era

Sangik Birthplace (Badonan Highlands)

Approximately 500,000 years ago, in the same Badonan highlands where Andon and Fonta first appeared, a single Sangik mother gave birth to six differently colored children — the ancestors of the six colored races. This one family produced the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and indigo races of Urantia. All colored races come from this one source. The children separated and migrated to different parts of the world: red race north to the Americas, blue race northwest to Europe, yellow race east to China, indigo race south to Africa, and orange and green races toward the Mediterranean and southern regions.
