Gonod
Indian Merchant Father
Gonod was a wealthy merchant of India and the father of Ganid, and it was he who engaged Jesus as tutor to his son and as interpreter for the long tour of the Roman world that began in A.D. 22 (130:0.1). A citizen of India who had made three extensive trips to the empire of the yellow race, Gonod gave Jesus a great deal of firsthand knowledge of the civilization and culture of India and China (130:0.6). After the journey across the Mediterranean lands, Gonod and Ganid embarked from Charax on the Persian Gulf for India, where Jesus bade them farewell in December of A.D. 23 (130:0.3).
